Mini work rant after the jump.
I hold a position at my company that is well known to be some of the most tedious work you can imagine. I was actually placed in there because I was good at it, not because I inquired. People both inside and outside of my company look at me in horror when I tell them what I do, tell me that they would gouge their eyes out in my position. Yet now that I’m completely burned out and I’m not doing it as well, people think I have work ethic issues. No other department wants me. There’s no one to replace me. And I want to gouge my eyes out.
Fuck it, I’m going back to fabrication. I miss building shit, anyway. Here’s another Jaguar.

That’s why when you get that job, you immediately start working your exit strategy go you jump ship while their memories of you are still “wow that guy was good” and before it turns to “man that guy was a burnt out lazy piece of shit”

That’s actually what I did, but it just didn’t happen quickly enough.

By “jump ship” I mean start getting your resume ready and applying to other companies. Cause you’ll never get switched anywhere else in your current company. And even if you do, they’ll still keep coming to you. We have a guy who got trapped doing a specialized test. Ate up his weekends and he hated it. Then he moved to another department about 8 months ago. Guess what? He’s STILL running that test. Nobody else wants to touch it with a ten foot pole and so it keep getting bucked back to him as “the guy who knows about this stuff.”
